NF-A · Nardi Filter - Aseptic
NF-A is a high-pressure sterile membrane filter designed to retain microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses, down to 0.01 μm, with DOP (dispersed oil particulate) penetration <0.0001%. Its microporous membrane helps provide microbiologically controlled air at the point of use.

USAGE RECOMMENDATION
Install NF-A as the final filtration stage, immediately before the point of use.
Use it only after adequate upstream filtration to protect the sterile membrane from particles, oil and other contaminants.
RECOMMENDED COMPRESSED AIR FILTRATION FLOW

→ Fine Filtration → Drying → Carbon Filtration → Aseptic Filtration → ...

A simple, effective, and safe approach
During compression, air temperatures exceed 158°F (70°C)—high enough to neutralize most microorganisms. The NF-A is designed to complete that process by capturing particles down to 0.01 microns, helping deliver clean, sterilized air ready for use.
Why antibacterial filtration instead of ozone or UV-C?
Before finalizing the NF-A concept, NARDI evaluated alternative sterilization methods including ozone and UV-C, and chose not to adopt them due to potential health and safety concerns:
-
Ozone (O₃): Effective against bacteria and viruses but may irritate the respiratory system and pose health risks.
-
UV-C (Ultraviolet C-band light): Often requires prolonged exposure, can generate ozone if not properly managed, and may introduce additional concerns when mercury vapor lamps are involved.
A responsible choice for guaranteed air quality
The NARDI NF-A is a practical, dependable solution for users who demand the highest level of compressed air purity. It reflects careful engineering and responsible technical decisions, delivering consistent performance without compromising health or safety.
